SSD disk Hewlett Packard Enterprise 800 GB SFF SAS MU BC MV P49745-001

The Hewlett Packard Enterprise DRV SSD 800GB SFF SAS MU BC MV is a solid-state drive engineered for enterprise-class storage environments. With 800GB usable capacity in a small form factor (SFF) and a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface, this SSD is designed to provide faster data access, lower latency and higher reliability than rotating media. It is intended for installation in compatible rack and blade servers where consistent performance and endurance are required for transactional and mixed workload environments.

Advantages

This SSD delivers improved I/O performance and reduced access times compared with traditional HDDs, making it suitable for database, virtualization and I/O-intensive applications. The small form factor allows higher drive density in server arrays, and the SAS interface supports enterprise-grade connectivity and transfer rates. Built with solid-state technology, it reduces moving-part failures and supports more predictable performance under sustained load.

Suitable for

• Database storage and transaction logging
• Virtual machine boot and datastore volumes
• High-performance caching and tiering layers
• Enterprise servers requiring low latency and high IOPS
• Mixed read/write workloads in data centers

Key specifications

• Capacity: 800 GB usable storage
• Form factor: Small Form Factor (SFF)
• Interface: SAS (Serial Attached SCSI)
• Technology: Solid-state memory (flash)
• Target use: Enterprise-class workloads and data center environments
• Performance characteristics: Optimized for high IOPS and low latency

How to use

Install the SSD into a compatible server drive bay or enclosure that supports SFF SAS drives following the server manufacturer's installation procedures. Ensure the host firmware and storage controller drivers support the drive and recognize SAS devices. For best results, provision the drive within your storage array or RAID configuration according to workload requirements, and perform firmware and driver updates as recommended by the server vendor. Monitor SMART or management utilities to track health and remaining life.

Recommendations

Use this SSD for primary system volumes, databases, virtual machine storage, or caching layers where consistent low latency and high IOPS are required. Match the drive to an appropriate RAID level or storage policy to balance performance, capacity and redundancy; enable enterprise monitoring and maintain up-to-date firmware for reliability.
