PENTEL SES15C-Y is a single-piece calligraphy pen with water-based orange ink and a round body designed for lettering, decorative writing and craft projects. The compact pen delivers smooth, consistent colored strokes that work well on cards, journals, signage and other paper surfaces. Its durable tip produces a brush-like effect that allows variation between thin and thick lines, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced users seeking precise decorative lettering.

Advantages

The water-based dye ink flows smoothly for even coverage and predictable results without heavy bleed-through on suitable paper. The unique durable tip recreates brush-like strokes in a single, convenient pen, enabling controlled transitions from fine hairlines to broader strokes. Its round housing is comfortable to hold for extended sessions and the pen's single-piece design reduces the risk of component loss while remaining easy to store and carry.

How to use

Begin by testing the pen on a scrap of the same paper you will use for the final piece to check ink flow and line variation. Hold the pen at different angles to vary stroke width: a more vertical angle produces finer lines, while a flatter angle creates broader strokes. Apply consistent pressure for smooth, even ink flow and release pressure when transitioning to thinner lines. Cap the pen securely after use to prevent drying and store horizontally for balanced ink distribution if not used for extended periods.

Recommendations for use

For best results, use smooth, medium- to heavy-weight paper designed for lettering or mixed media. Avoid highly absorbent or low-quality papers that can cause feathering or bleed-through. When layering colors or adding water effects, test compatibility first and allow each layer to dry thoroughly before adding additional ink or wet media.
