Sony MI Shoe Cap FASHC1M.SYH Multi-Interface accessory for camera hot shoe is a protective cover designed to fit Sony cameras equipped with the Multi Interface (MI) shoe. It shields the MI contacts and housing from dust, moisture and incidental mechanical contact when accessories are not attached, helping to preserve connector integrity and reliable electrical contact over time.

Advantages

The shoe cap provides a precise fit that maintains the profile of the camera’s hot shoe while protecting the contacts. Constructed from durable materials, it resists everyday wear and helps prevent corrosion or contamination of the MI contacts. Its low weight and compact form allow easy storage on the camera or in a camera bag without adding bulk.

How to use

Align the shoe cap with the camera’s Multi Interface shoe and gently slide it into place until it seats securely over the contacts. To remove, grip the cap and pull it straight out to avoid twisting forces on the shoe. Regularly inspect the cap and the shoe for accumulated dirt; clean both surfaces with a soft, dry cloth before reattaching. Do not force the cap if resistance is unusually high.

Recommendations

Use the shoe cap whenever the MI shoe is not in use, particularly during storage, transport, or in dusty or humid environments. Periodically remove the cap to check the condition of contacts and to clean away debris, ensuring reliable accessory connection and long-term performance.
