Maximize performance, flexibility and cost-effectiveness with this ToR switch that features 48 x 10GbE SFP+ ports, 2 x 40GbE QSFP+ ports, and 4 x 100GbE QSFP28 ports, and ONIE for zero-touch installation of alternate network operating systems.
How to use
Mount the S4148F-ON in a standard 19-inch rack using the provided brackets and fasten securely. Connect power and attach network uplinks and server/storage links to the appropriate ports. Access the management interface via the console port (RJ-45 or Micro-USB) or through its network management IP to configure VLANs, L2/L3 routing, QoS, and other features. Monitor MAC table usage and performance metrics through the management console and SNMP for ongoing operation.
Recommendations
Place the switch in a cooled, dust-free rack environment with proper airflow. Use managed configuration backups and firmware updates from Dell to maintain security and stability. For optimal performance in dense deployments, aggregate uplinks and enable appropriate QoS and flow-control settings.
