How to use

Mount the GS-4210-8P2C on a desktop or shelf and connect power. Use the Web-based management interface, CLI or SNMP management software to configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS policies and security settings. Connect PoE-powered devices to the PoE ports and configure PD Alive Check, PoE schedules or scheduled power recycling as needed. For long-distance uplinks, insert appropriate SFP transceivers into the SFP slots and verify SFP-DDM readings for link diagnostics.

Recommendations

Configure PoE schedules to turn off ports during non-business hours to save energy and increase security. Use PD Alive Check and scheduled power recycling for critical IP cameras and APs to reduce downtime. For redundancy, enable ERPS or MSTP and place fiber uplinks in the SFP slots with appropriate transceivers and monitoring enabled.
