Okulár GSO SV50 50 mm 2" — astronomický okulár, ohnisková vzdialenosť 50 mm, 2" objímka

The GSO SV50 50 mm 2" eyepiece is a low-power, wide-field astronomical eyepiece designed for expansive sky views. With a 50 mm focal length and a 2-inch barrel, it delivers a large apparent field of view that makes it easier to locate and track extended celestial objects such as star clusters, nebulae and the Milky Way. The eyepiece offers comfortable eye relief and wide-field framing, suitable for scenic observing sessions, public outreach and educational use.

Advantages

This eyepiece provides a wide apparent field that enhances situational awareness at the telescope, allowing users to see more of the sky at once without frequent re-centering. Its 2" barrel ensures compatibility with many standard focuser systems and reduces vignetting on telescopes with larger light cones. The design supports relaxed viewing with comfortable eye relief, which helps reduce eye strain during longer observing sessions. The optical layout is optimized for low magnification and wide-field performance, making it a practical choice for visual observation of large deep-sky objects and rich star fields.

Suitable for

• Wide-field visual observation of star clusters and large nebulae
• Scenic sky viewing and Milky Way panoramas
• Public outreach, astronomy clubs and educational demonstrations
• Low-magnification scanning and object acquisition

Key specifications

• Focal length: 50 mm
• Barrel size: 2 inches (standard)
• Intended use: low-power, wide-field visual observing
• Eye relief: comfortable for unaided viewing and use with eyeglasses

How to use

Insert the 2" barrel of the eyepiece into a compatible 2" focuser and secure it with the focuser thumbscrew. Use the eyepiece at the telescope’s native focal ratio for the lowest practical magnification and the widest field of view; on slower telescopes it will present an especially wide and immersive view. Focus carefully until star points are as sharp as possible across the field, then use slow motions or a drive to track objects. For public demonstrations, a wide-field eyepiece like this is helpful for quickly showing extended targets to multiple viewers.

Recommendations

Pair the eyepiece with a finder or low-power secondary eyepiece for easier target acquisition, and ensure the telescope’s focuser and diagonal (if used) are rated for 2" accessories to avoid stress on the focuser. For best wide-field performance, use under dark skies and allow the telescope to cool to ambient temperature before observing.
