Optický kábel S/CONN ShiverPeaks 07-510315 2 m

The ShiverPeaks S/CONN 07-510315 2m fibre optic cable is an OM5 multimode link with SC connectors on both ends designed for duplex data transmission. With a 50 µm core diameter it is suitable for high-speed short-reach applications and provides a standardized multimode fibre performance profile. The 2 metre length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment connections in server rooms, network closets and equipment cabinets.

Advantages

This OM5 fibre cable supports full duplex communication via SC-SC termination, delivering low insertion loss and consistent optical performance across the multimode bandwidth. The 50 µm core provides compatibility with multimode transceivers and allows for high data rates over short distances. The two metre length reduces excess slack while remaining long enough to route cleanly through typical data centre layouts. The cable assembly is intended for stable signal transmission and dependable physical durability in managed cabling environments.

Suitable for

• Short-reach data centre links between switches, servers and storage
• InfiniBand networking and high-performance computing interconnects
• Patch panel to transceiver connections in telecom racks
• Equipment interconnects in server rooms and network closets

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC on both ends (duplex)
• Cable length: 2 m
• Transmission: full duplex
• Typical use: short-reach high-speed multimode links

How to use

Connect each SC connector to the corresponding SC port on transceivers, patch panels or network equipment, ensuring proper orientation and firm seating until a click or secure fit is achieved. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. For duplex operation, ensure both fibres are correctly matched to the transmit and receive ports on connected devices. Validate the link using appropriate optical test equipment or network diagnostics after installation.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a clean environment, protect SC endfaces with dust caps when not in use, and perform visual inspection and cleaning of connectors before mating. For reliable operation in data centres, label both ends according to rack and port assignments and avoid tight cable bundles or kinks that can increase insertion loss.
