Optický kábel ST/ST 3 m ShiverPeaks CO 77903

This 3m ST/ST fibre optic cable from ShiverPeaks is a duplex patchcord with OM2 multimode fibre and a 50/125 µm core/cladding geometry. The halogen-free construction and ST connectors on both ends make it suitable for high-speed short-range links where reliable full-duplex data transmission and reduced environmental impact are required. The cable length and connector type are chosen to fit standard networking equipment with ST ports and to ensure stable multimode performance in structured cabling and device interconnects.

Advantages

The cable provides consistent signal quality for multimode links thanks to the OM2 50/125 µm fibre specification and duplex configuration for full-duplex operation. ST/ST metal bayonet connectors deliver secure physical mating and low insertion loss in compatible equipment. Halogen-free outer jacket reduces toxic gas emission in case of fire, which is beneficial for installations with enhanced safety requirements. The 3 m length offers a balance between flexibility and manageable cable routing in telecom rooms, data cabinets, and lab environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting multimode network devices with ST interfaces over short to medium distances
• Data centre patching, server connections and switch-to-switch links within racks or cabinets
• Multimode fiber test setups and laboratory equipment interconnects
• Telecommunications closets and campus wiring requiring halogen-free cabling

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM2 multimode
• Core/cladding diameter: 50/125 µm
• Connector type: ST to ST, duplex
• Length: 3 m
• Jacket: halogen-free
• Transmission mode: full duplex multimode

How to use

Inspect connectors and cable for visible damage before installation. Align ST connectors with equipment receptacles and engage the bayonet coupling until it clicks to secure the connection. Use both fibres of the duplex cable for bidirectional links, ensuring transmit and receive ports are correctly paired. Route the cable with gentle bends; avoid tight kinks and excessive pulling forces. For best performance, keep connector endfaces clean and, if necessary, clean them with appropriate fibre-optic cleaning tools before mating.

Recommendations

Use the cable within recommended bend radius and tensile limits, avoid repeated flexing near the connectors, and store or route it away from electrical noise sources. When deploying in safety-sensitive areas, the halogen-free jacket supports compliance with low-smoke, halogen-free requirements. Regularly inspect and clean fibre endfaces to maintain low insertion loss and reliable full-duplex communication.
