How to use

Connect one end of the cable to the main tester and the other end to the remote or to the appropriate connector port. Power on the tester and select the continuity test mode if applicable; observe the LCD and LED indicators to determine pin mapping and continuity status. Use the readouts to identify open circuits, shorts or miswiring. After testing, power off the device and remove batteries if the unit will be stored for an extended period. Avoid touching exposed conductive contacts during operation.

Recommendations

For reliable results, test cables with both ends properly terminated and free from external voltage sources. Keep connector contacts clean and dry, and replace batteries when the display or indicators dim. Do not use the tester on live telephone or data lines carrying voltages beyond safe low-voltage signaling levels.
