The Dahle PS 420 is a compact, high-security desk-side document shredder with cross (particle) cut P-5 suitable for home or small office use. It reduces paper into 2 x 15 mm particles, operates at approximately 60 dB and includes a 25 L pull-out waste container plus a separate compartment for CDs, DVDs and cards. The unit features automatic start/stop via an integrated photoelectric sensor, energy-saving standby mode and multiple safety protections including automatic shut-off and overheating indicator.

Advantages

Designed for convenient manual control, the shredder offers a feed and reverse function, automatic paper reverse to clear jams, and self-cleaning cutting rollers to maintain performance. How to use

Place the Dahle PS 420 on a stable surface near a 230 V outlet and ensure the pull-out waste container is correctly installed. Power the unit on; the integrated photoelectric sensor enables automatic start when material is fed and stops when shredding is complete. Feed paper, cards or discs into the corresponding slot, using the reverse function to clear any jams. Monitor the optical waste level indicator and empty the pull-out bin when required. Allow the unit to cool if the overheating indicator activates and follow the manual for safe handling of CDs and cards.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid continuously overloading the feed and follow the manufacturer’s guidance on maximum sheet capacity. Use the reverse and overload indicators to resolve jams, and empty the separate media compartment regularly to maintain shredding performance and proper waste separation.
