Ventilátor Fractal Design Silent Series R3 50 mm

The Fractal Design Silent Series R3 50mm fan is a compact 5 cm cooling fan designed for use in computers and other electronic devices. It operates at 12 V with a maximum speed of 3500 RPM and provides up to 1.41 mmH2O air pressure. The fan uses Fractal Design’s black-and-white styling and is intended as a quiet, reliable replacement or upgrade for small cooling applications.

Advantages

The Silent Series R3 50mm model features a rifle bearing for extended service life and reduced noise compared with standard sleeve bearings. Its low maximum speed and balanced, sturdy design are optimized for quiet operation while maintaining effective airflow. The fan includes a black stealth ribbon cable for easier cable routing and a clean aesthetic.

Suitable for

• Small form-factor PC cases
• Replacement of noisy or failed 50 mm fans in electronics
• Cooling in compact NAS units, routers or industrial control enclosures

How to use

Install the fan in the required mounting location using the appropriate screws or clips for a 50 mm fan. Connect the fan to a 12 V supply via the system fan header or an appropriate adapter, ensuring correct polarity. Position the fan so that airflow direction aligns with your case or device cooling plan. Verify secure cable routing using the stealth ribbon cable to avoid contact with moving parts.

Recommendations

For quiet operation, use the fan at lower voltages or PWM control where available and ensure regular dust cleaning. Replace noisy bearings by installing a new fan rather than attempting repairs.
