The Warm Audio WA-87 R2 is a premium large-diaphragm condenser microphone that faithfully recreates the classic sound of the legendary '87-style microphones. With a custom reproduction of the K87 dual-backplate capsule, a Cinemag USA output transformer, and fully discrete Class A circuitry, this microphone delivers the rich, detailed, and versatile tone that has defined countless hit records. The WA-87 R2 is built with a brass body and nickel finish, offering durability and timeless aesthetics. Whether you're tracking vocals, acoustic instruments, or overheads, this microphone provides professional-grade performance at an accessible price.

Advantages

The WA-87 R2 offers three switchable polar patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8) for maximum flexibility in any recording scenario. Its -10dB pad and 80Hz high-pass filter allow you to handle high SPL sources and reduce low-frequency rumble. The custom Cinemag transformer adds warmth and character, while the low self-noise (9 dBA) ensures clean recordings even in quiet passages.
