Aktívny optický kábel BlueOptics 980-9I535-00A015 AOC SFP28 25GBASE-SR Ethernet Infiniband 15 m

The Active Optical Cable BlueOptics 980-9I535-00A015 AOC SFP28 25GBASE-SR Ethernet Infiniband 15 m is a factory-terminated optical link in SFP28 form factor designed for short-reach, high-speed connections in data center environments. With a 15 meter length and support for 25GBASE-SR, this AOC provides a compact, low-power alternative to discrete transceivers and separate fiber patch cords, delivering error-resilient transmission suitable for Ethernet and InfiniBand fabrics. The integrated design reduces component count and simplifies installation while offering immunity to electromagnetic interference and consistent signal integrity across the link.

Advantages

This AOC combines an SFP28 connector interface with a factory-aligned optical fiber to ensure predictable performance and low insertion loss. The all-in-one cable eliminates the need for separate transceivers and patch cables, reducing space usage in racks and lowering power consumption compared with active copper options at similar data rates. Its optical transmission provides EMI immunity and stable latency, making it suitable for sensitive networking and storage applications where reliability and signal quality are important.

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 connector into corresponding SFP28 ports on network devices, ensuring the connectors are fully seated and the latch engages. Confirm that connected devices support 25GBASE-SR and AOC compatibility; check link status indicators after insertion. No separate fiber termination or transceiver module installation is required. For removal, depress the latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid stressing the cable assembly.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius, and secure the cable to prevent strain on the connectors. Use AOC links within the specified short-reach range of 25GBASE-SR and in environments where temperature and airflow meet equipment requirements. Verify device firmware or driver settings if link negotiation issues occur and replace the cable if physical damage or persistent errors are detected.
