AOC CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q1M 1 m 25G aktívny optický kábel

The AOC CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q1M is a 1 m active optical cable designed for 25G SFP28 interfaces. It provides a direct optical connection between compatible servers, switches and other network devices, offering a short-reach solution that replaces equivalent copper twinax assemblies. The cable delivers full 25 Gbps throughput per lane with low latency and improved electromagnetic immunity, making it suitable for dense rack and data centre topologies where signal integrity and thermal performance matter.

Advantages

This active optical cable reduces heat generation and susceptibility to electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives, maintaining stable 25G links across short distances. The 1 m length simplifies cable management in racks and enclosures, while the SFP28 form-factor ensures compatibility with standard 25G SFP28 ports. As an optical solution, it supports low-latency transmission and helps preserve signal quality in environments with high-density networking equipment.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting 25G SFP28 ports on switches and top-of-rack servers
• Short-reach uplinks and cross-connects inside racks and cabinets
• High-density data centre cabling where electromagnetic immunity is required
• Low-latency links for virtualised servers and performance-sensitive applications

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP28 connectors compatible with 25G ports
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per link
• Length: 1 metre
• Type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Latency: low-latency optical transmission
• Design: Slim, rack-friendly cabling for short-reach connections

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the SFP28 cages of the devices to be linked, ensuring the connector latch engages securely. No external transceivers or additional power supplies are required beyond the host ports that support SFP28 AOC modules. Verify link status on connected devices and configure network settings as needed for 25G operation. For best results, avoid sharp bends and protect the cable from crushing or abrasion during installation.

Recommendations

Use the AOC for short-reach connections within racks or between adjacent racks; confirm device compatibility with SFP28 AOC modules and check firmware or vendor compatibility lists when deployed in mixed-vendor environments.
