Aktívny optický kábel CBO AOC-Q-Q-40G-5M-BO QSFP na QSFP 40 Gbit/s, 5 m

The BlueOptics Active Optical Cable CBO AOC-Q-Q-40G-5M-BO is a 5 m QSFP-to-QSFP link designed for 40 Gbit/s short-range connections. This cable combines QSFP male connectors with an optical active link to provide high-speed interconnects between servers, switches and storage systems. The optical construction reduces electromagnetic interference sensitivity and offers lower weight and simplified cable management compared with equivalent copper assemblies.

Advantages

This active optical cable supports a 40 Gbit/s data rate and delivers low latency for high-throughput applications. The QSFP-to-QSFP plug-in format ensures direct compatibility with QSFP ports without transceivers, making installation straightforward. The optical medium provides immunity to EMI and improved signal integrity over short distances, while the 5 m length covers typical data center top-of-rack and short-reach aggregation scenarios.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch high-speed links
• Switch-to-switch aggregation in racks and short rows
• Storage system interconnects requiring 40 Gbit/s bandwidth
• Environments where EMI immunity and reduced cable bulk are needed

Key specifications

• Connector type: QSFP male to QSFP male
• Data rate: 40 Gbit/s
• Length: 5 meters
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Transmission medium: Optical fiber with integrated active electronics
• Typical use range: Short-reach data center interconnects

How to use

Connect each QSFP connector to compatible QSFP ports on networking devices such as switches, routers, servers or storage adapters. Ensure both endpoints support QSFP direct-attach optical links and that port settings match the 40 Gbit/s speed. Handle the cable by the connector housings, avoid sharp bends and maintain the recommended bend radius to preserve optical performance. No external power or additional transceivers are required for standard operation.

Recommendations

Deploy the cable within rack and cabinet routing channels to minimise mechanical strain and maintain airflow. Verify compatibility with device port firmware and QSFP profiles before installation, and test the link with diagnostic tools or port statistics to confirm expected throughput and error-free operation.
