AOC CBO Alcatel-Lucent QSFP-H40G-AOC2M-AL 2 m QSFP+ aktívny optický kábel

The AOC CBO Alcatel-Lucent QSFP-H40G-AOC2M-AL 2 m QSFP+ Active Optical Cable is a 2-meter QSFP+ form-factor cable designed for 40 Gbps connections between QSFP-enabled switches, servers and storage appliances. This Active Optical Cable (AOC) uses optical signaling to provide high-bandwidth, low-latency links appropriate for dense data center topologies and high-performance network fabrics. The cable reduces electromagnetic interference and simplifies cabling runs compared with equivalent copper direct-attach options, while supporting typical QSFP+ electrical and optical compatibility for short-reach interconnects.

Advantages

The QSFP+ AOC delivers 40 Gbps aggregate bandwidth over a compact QSFP form factor and a flexible 2 m length, enabling straightforward point-to-point connections in rack and row environments. By using active optical transceivers integrated into the cable ends, it offers lower weight and improved thermal behavior versus copper assemblies and is less susceptible to EMI. The plug-and-play nature of the QSFP+ connector ensures easy deployment with minimal configuration on compatible networking equipment.

Suitable for

• Top-of-rack and end-of-row 40 GbE switch-to-switch connections
• Server-to-switch links in high-performance computing and virtualization environments
• Interconnects between storage arrays and network switches requiring 40 Gbps throughput

Key specifications

• Form factor: QSFP+ (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus)
• Aggregate data rate: 40 Gbps
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Length: 2 meters
• Interface: QSFP+ to QSFP+
• Signal medium: multi-channel optical fibers with integrated active optics
• Typical use: short-reach data center interconnects

How to use

Install the QSFP+ AOC by firmly inserting each QSFP+ connector into the corresponding QSFP port on your switches, servers or storage devices until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered and that port settings on network equipment match the intended 40 Gbps link mode; many systems negotiate link parameters automatically. Avoid sharp bends in the cable and maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for optical assemblies. For removal, depress the latch and pull straight to avoid stress on the connector.

Recommendations

Use the 2 m AOC for intra-rack and short inter-rack connections where 40 Gbps bandwidth and reduced EMI are required. Verify compatibility with the QSFP port vendor documentation and ensure ambient temperature and airflow around ports meet equipment specifications. Store unused cables in a dry, dust-free environment and avoid exposing optical endfaces to contaminants.
