AOC SFP+ CBO Meraki SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10G 7m aktívny optický kábel

The AOC SFP+ CBO Meraki SFP-AOC-10G-7M is a 7-meter active optical cable designed for SFP+ ports, delivering 10 Gigabit per second links for short-range connections in data centers and network racks. This plug-and-play cable reduces cabling complexity and electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives, providing a lightweight, low-latency optical connection between switches, servers and storage arrays. The cable is intended for straightforward integration with equipment that accepts SFP+ AOC modules and supports 10G data rates.

Advantages

The active optical construction offers consistent 10G throughput over a 7 m distance while remaining power-efficient and generating minimal heat. As a direct-attach optical solution, the cable eliminates the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords, simplifying installation and inventory. Its optical medium avoids crosstalk and RF interference, improving signal integrity in dense rack deployments. The SFP+ form factor ensures compatibility with many 10G-ready network devices and supports hot-plug operation for maintenance convenience.

Suitable for

• Inter-switch links within the same rack or adjacent racks
• Server-to-switch connections in data center top-of-rack configurations
• Connecting storage systems to aggregation switches for high-throughput workloads
• Short-reach 10G network segments where low latency and signal integrity are required

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ plug-and-play active optical cable
• Data rate: 10 Gigabit per second
• Length: 7 meters
• Medium: optical fiber with active transceiver electronics integrated into cable ends
• Latency: low-latency design suitable for high-throughput applications
• Power consumption: optimized for power-efficient 10G links
• Cable type: direct-attach AOC eliminating need for separate transceivers and patch cords

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the respective SFP+ port on two compatible devices until the connector latches. Because the AOC is plug-and-play, most systems will recognize the link automatically and negotiate 10G operation without additional configuration. Verify link status via device management interfaces and ensure port settings (speed, duplex, auto-negotiation where applicable) match the intended network configuration. For safe handling, avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling on the cable; route it through rack channels or cable management arms as appropriate.

Recommendations

Use this 7 m AOC for short-range 10G connections inside racks or between adjacent racks. Maintain bend radii recommended by the manufacturer, keep the cable away from high-heat sources and verify compatibility with your network hardware's SFP+ AOC support list to ensure full functionality.
