CBO AOC SFP28 aktívny optický kábel 2 m 25 Gbit/s model AOC-SFP-25G-2M-BO

The CBO AOC SFP28 active optical cable 2 m 25 Gbit/s model AOC-SFP-25G-2M-BO is a 2‑metre direct-attach SFP28 link designed for short-reach data centre interconnects. This Active Optical Cable supports 25 Gbit/s line rate and is intended for use between servers, switches and storage equipment where low latency and reduced electromagnetic interference are required. The cable combines optical transmission with an SFP28-compatible plug form factor to provide a compact connection with lower power consumption than equivalent copper assemblies.

Advantages

The Active Optical Cable delivers a stable 25 Gbit/s connection over a 2 m optical channel, providing improved signal integrity and immunity to EMI compared with copper. Its direct-attach SFP28 design simplifies installation and reduces cabling bulk in dense rack environments. The optical medium and integrated transceivers lower power dissipation for short-reach links and help maintain low latency for high-performance networking and storage applications.

Suitable for

• Short-reach server-to-switch connections in data centres
• Switch-to-switch uplinks within the same rack or adjacent racks
• High-performance storage area network (SAN) links requiring 25 Gbit/s
• Environments where electromagnetic interference must be minimised

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 direct-attach form factor suitable for SFP28 ports
• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s line rate
• Cable type: active optical cable with integrated transceivers
• Length: 2 metres
• Typical use: short-reach data centre interconnects
• Advantages over copper: lower EMI and reduced power consumption for short links

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the appropriate SFP28 port on your network devices until the latch engages. Ensure both connected devices support 25 Gbit/s SFP28 modules and that ports are configured for the intended link speed. Avoid sharp bends and excessive tension on the optical cable; route the cable to prevent tight radii and secure it in the rack to prevent mechanical stress. If link training or auto-negotiation features are present on the devices, verify the link status via the device management interface after insertion.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use this 2 m active optical cable in short-reach scenarios within single racks or adjacent rack rows. Confirm compatibility with switch and server firmware and check port settings for 25 Gbit/s operation. Store and handle the cable to prevent contamination of connector endfaces and avoid bending below the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius.
