CBO AOC Sophos SFP-AOC-10G-7M aktívny optický kábel (SFP+), 10 Gbit/s, 7 m

The CBO AOC Sophos SFP-AOC-10G-7M Active Optical Cable is a 10 Gbps SFP+ duplex fiber link designed for short-reach connections in data centers, network racks and server rooms. This plug-and-play AOC provides a low-latency, low-power alternative to copper twinax cables for connecting compatible SFP+ ports on switches, servers and storage devices. The 7 metre length offers flexible placement while maintaining signal integrity over a single multimode optical channel in SFP+ form factor.

Advantages

This active optical cable delivers 10 Gbps throughput with reduced electromagnetic interference and lower heat generation compared with copper alternatives. The integrated transceivers in SFP+ format simplify installation—no separate modules or patch cords are required. The cable’s optical construction supports stable performance over its 7 m reach, and the lightweight design eases cable management in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• High-speed links between switches and top-of-rack devices
• Server-to-switch and storage-to-switch connections in data centers
• Short-reach 10G aggregation and access layer interconnects
• Environments requiring reduced EMI and lower power consumption

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ form factor, duplex optical link
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 7 metres
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Connector type: SFP+ integrated transceivers at both ends
• Typical application: Short-reach multimode links for servers, switches and storage

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector into the appropriate SFP+ port on the devices to be linked, ensuring the ports are compatible with SFP+ AOC modules. The cable is designed for hot-plug operation; once seated the devices should recognise the optical link automatically. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; maintain recommended bend radii to preserve optical performance. No external power or separate transceivers are required beyond the SFP+ ports on the connected equipment.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility with your equipment vendor’s SFP+ port policy before installation. For best results, keep the cable free from sharp bends and secure it in the rack to reduce strain. Use for short-reach 10G connections up to 7 m where lower latency, reduced EMI and lower power consumption are desired.
