BlueOptics SFP-25G-AOC5M InfiniBand optický kábel 5 m SFP28 aqua

The BlueOptics SFP-25G-AOC5M InfiniBand fibre optic cable 5 m SFP28 Aqua is a 5-metre active optical cable with SFP28 connectors, designed for 25 Gigabit links in data centre and high-performance networking environments. It provides a compact, plug-and-play solution for short-reach connections between switches, servers and storage devices where low latency and consistent throughput are required. The aqua-coloured jacket aids visual identification in dense cabling installations.

Advantages

This active optical cable supports 25 Gbit/s data rates and leverages SFP28 form-factor compatibility for direct connection to SFP28 ports without additional transceivers. The AOC design delivers electrical-to-optical conversion within the cable assembly, reducing power consumption and heat compared with some optical-transceiver-plus-patch-cord combinations. The fixed 5 m length simplifies rack planning and ensures predictable signal performance across short interconnect spans. Its robust construction and factory-terminated connectors minimise installation time and handling risk.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 25 Gbit/s links between switches and servers in data centres
• Top-of-rack and middle-of-row network interconnects
• High-performance computing and InfiniBand environments requiring low latency
• Server-to-storage and server-to-switch connections in dense cabling racks

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Rated data rate: 25 Gbit/s
• Length: 5 metres
• Colour: Aqua jacket for easy identification
• Form factor: SFP28 compatible small form-factor pluggable
• Typical application: Short-reach interconnects in data centres

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port until the latch clicks; no separate transceivers or fibre patch cords are required. Ensure both ends are seated in compatible ports on switches, servers or storage devices and verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and maintain the specified bend radius; secure the cable using cable management hardware to prevent strain on the connectors. If link does not establish, reseat the connectors and check device configuration and port compatibility.

Recommendations

Use in controlled data centre environments, avoid exposure to direct sunlight or liquids, and maintain bend radius and strain relief to preserve optical performance. Confirm SFP28 port compatibility and firmware/vendor support for active optical cables in networking equipment before deployment.
