Optický kábel ST 1m ShiverPeaks 77901/3

The ShiverPeaks Fibre Optic Cable ST 1m (OM3) is a 1 metre multimode patch cable with ST connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. It provides full duplex optical transmission suitable for high-speed data links in local area networks and data centre equipment. The OM3 specification supports enhanced bandwidth for short-reach multimode applications and the ST connector design offers reliable bayonet-style mating for legacy and industrial installations.

Advantages

This 1 m OM3 fibre optic cable delivers low attenuation and consistent signal quality for short-distance multimode connections. The ST-to-ST termination ensures simple and secure mechanical connection with predictable insertion loss. Constructed for durability, the cable is suitable for repeated handling and patch panel use while maintaining optical performance. The 50 µm core is optimized for typical multimode transceivers and supports full duplex communication for simultaneous transmit and receive channels.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting network equipment in data centres and server rooms
• Patch panel to switch/router connections using ST interfaces
• Short-reach multimode links for storage and backup systems
• Industrial or laboratory setups that require ST fibre terminations

Key specifications

• Length: 1 metre
• Fibre type: Multimode OM3
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST on both ends
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Cable use: Patch/patching between equipment

How to use

Ensure both devices have compatible ST receptacles and multimode transceivers before connecting. Align the ST connector ferrule with the equipment receptacle and insert, twisting the bayonet coupling to lock the connector in place. Use separate fibres or colour-coded cables to maintain transmit and receive channel orientation for full duplex operation. Avoid tight bends and secure the cable along routing paths to prevent stress on the fibre and connector interfaces.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector boots and avoid pulling on the fibre. Maintain a minimum bend radius as specified for multimode OM3 cabling, keep connectors clean using appropriate fibre cleaning tools, and store the cable coiled without sharp kinks when not in use.
