Sériový server zariadení Exsys EX-6124-2POE — Ethernet na 4× RS-232/422/485 s PoE a 12V/3A napájacím zdrojom

The Exsys EX-6124-2POE is a compact serial device server that provides Ethernet-to-serial conversion for four independent ports with support for RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 signaling. Designed for industrial and commercial integration, the unit enables remote access, monitoring and control of legacy serial devices across standard IP networks. It accepts Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified installation and can alternatively be powered by an external 12V/3A supply for environments without PoE.

Advantages

The device combines multiple serial interfaces into a single networked appliance, reducing the need for direct cabling and enabling centralized management. Support for three serial standards ensures compatibility with a wide range of industrial sensors, controllers and terminals. Dual power options—PoE and a 12V/3A external supply—provide flexible deployment choices. The compact metal housing and standard Ethernet connectivity allow easy integration into existing network racks and automation cabinets.

Suitable for

• Connecting industrial controllers, PLCs and HMIs to an IP network
• Remote monitoring of serial sensors and meters
• Serial terminal access and configuration over Ethernet
• Integrating legacy equipment into building management or SCADA systems
• Environments where PoE simplifies cabling and power distribution

Key specifications

• Number of serial ports: 4 independently configurable ports
• Supported serial standards: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 (selectable)
• Network interface: 10/100Base-T Ethernet
• Power options: Power over Ethernet (PoE) input and external 12V DC, 3A supply
• Mounting: DIN-rail or panel mounting compatible form factor
• Housing: durable metal enclosure suitable for industrial environments

How to use

Install the EX-6124-2POE in a suitable network location and connect the Ethernet cable to a PoE-enabled switch or injector if PoE is used; alternatively connect the external 12V/3A power supply. Configure each serial port to the required protocol (RS-232/422/485) and set baud rate, parity and stop bits according to the connected device. Use the device’s web interface or supplied configuration utility to assign network settings (static IP or DHCP), map serial ports to TCP/UDP sockets or virtual COM ports on client systems, and set security or access controls. After configuration, verify communication by sending and receiving data through the mapped network ports and monitor link/status indicators for network and serial activity.

Recommendations

Place the unit in an environment protected from excessive dust, moisture and vibration. When using RS-485 in multi-drop setups, ensure correct termination and biasing to prevent reflections. If the network lacks PoE capability, use the specified 12V/3A external supply. Reserve separate channels in network access control and monitor firmware updates from the manufacturer to maintain compatibility and security.
