SFP28 Active Optical kábel BlueOptics BO272703Q5M 5 m

The AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M 5M is an active optical cable designed for high-speed 25 Gigabit Ethernet and compatible SFP28 ports. It provides a fixed, low-latency connection between network devices such as switches, servers and storage systems, with a 5 metre cable length that supports flexible rack-to-rack and intra-rack interconnects. The product is built to the SFP28 form factor and BlueOptics standards for interoperability with a wide range of data centre equipment.

Advantages

This AOC offers a compact SFP28 connector profile with the signal integrity and EMI immunity typical of optical links. The integrated design removes the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords, reducing component count and simplifying installation. With a 5 m reach, the cable balances latency and reach for short-distance, high-bandwidth links while consuming less power than many copper alternatives. The fixed cable reduces connector losses and ensures consistent performance in dense server and switch environments.

Suitable for

• 25 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks between switches and routers
• High-speed server-to-switch connections in racks and cabinets
• Interconnects in virtualised and hyper-converged data centre deployments
• Low-latency links for storage networking and clustering

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP28 form factor with integrated active optical cable
• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s per channel (25 Gigabit Ethernet)
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: SFP28 duplex optical connection (fixed AOC assembly)
• Optical medium: single-mode or multi-mode optical fibre as implemented by manufacturer
• Typical applications: short-reach data centre interconnects and server switching

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 connector into the appropriate transceiver slot on the devices to be connected, ensuring the latch engages and the module seats securely. No separate fibre patching is required; route the 5 m cable to avoid tight bends and secure it to prevent strain on the connectors. Devices should detect the link automatically if they support SFP28 AOC modules; verify link status and negotiated speed via the equipment management interface.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid bending the cable beyond the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius, keep the optical connectors free from dust and contaminants, and confirm firmware or compatibility notes for the networking equipment manufacturer. Use the 5 m AOC for short-distance, high-bandwidth links inside racks or between adjacent racks where fixed optical assemblies improve cable management and signal integrity.
