Zaslepovací kryt pozície disku Icy Dock MB742SP-B čierny

The Icy Dock ExpressCage MB742SP-B is a dual 2.5" drive enclosure that fits into a standard external 3.5" (floppy) bay, providing a compact solution for adding two 2.5" SATA/SAS SSDs or HDDs to small-form-factor systems, embedded PCs, box PCs, in-vehicle systems, and home servers. Constructed with a metal chassis and plastic components, the unit offers ventilation for heat dissipation and supports standard 7-pin SATA data and 15-pin SATA power connections with locking latches. The tray caddy enables tool-less installation and secure holding of 9.5 mm height drives, while the integrated activity LED indicates power and drive activity.

Advantages

The MB742SP-B provides a space-efficient way to add two 2.5" drives into a single 3.5" bay while maintaining physical protection thanks to its metal enclosure and all-around ventilation. Its ExpressTray caddy supports tool-less drive installation and removal with side grips and built-in screws, and a strengthened single-piece latch for easy hot-swap access. Locking SATA data and power connectors reduce the risk of accidental disconnection, and the activity LED gives a clear visual status of drive operation.

Suitable for

• Small-Form-Factor (SFF) desktop PCs
• Embedded systems and box PCs
• In-vehicle computing systems
• Home servers and NAS enclosures
• RAID 0/1 configurations for speed or redundancy

Key specifications

• Supported drives: two 2.5" SAS/SATA SSDs or HDDs (9.5 mm height)
• External bay: 3.5" (floppy) bay
• Interface support: 7-pin SATA data and 15-pin SATA power (locking)
• Material: metal chassis with plastic components
• Dimensions (approx.): 101.6 mm (W) x 136.3 mm (D) x 25.4 mm (H)
• Weight (approx.): 0.287–0.33 kg
• Indicator: integrated drive activity LED (solid blue = power, flashing blue = activity)
• MPN: MB742SP-B

How to use

Insert each 2.5" drive into the ExpressTray caddy and secure it using the built-in screws or optional bottom screw holes for additional stability. Slide the populated caddy into the MB742SP-B enclosure in the 3.5" external bay until the latch clicks. Connect the 7-pin SATA data and 15-pin SATA power cables; the locking latches will secure the connections. Power on the system and verify the integrated LED: solid blue indicates power and flashing blue indicates drive activity. For hot-swap environments, press the latch button to release the tray when the drive is not active.

Recommendations

Use the MB742SP-B in systems where space is limited and reliable, ventilated protection for 2.5" drives is required. For data protection, consider configuring the two drives in RAID 1; for higher performance, consider RAID 0 with an appropriate RAID controller or software RAID. Ensure drives are the supported 9.5 mm height and allow airflow around the enclosure to maintain cooling.
