AOC BlueOptics SFP28 aktívny optický kábel 30 m od CBO, model SFP28-AOC-30M-GM-BO

The AOC BlueOptics SFP28 Active Optical Cable 30 m by CBO, model SFP28-AOC-30M-GM-BO, is a factory-terminated active optical link in an SFP28 form factor designed for 25GbE and compatible ports. At 30 metres length, this AOC combines low power consumption and high signal integrity to provide a fixed-length optical connection between servers, switches or other network devices. It uses optical fiber technology to deliver high-speed data transfer while eliminating the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords in short to medium reach data centre and rack environments.

Advantages

The cable offers a compact SFP28 plug-and-play solution that reduces component count and simplifies cabling management compared with discrete transceiver plus patch cord assemblies. Active optical technology enables lower insertion loss and extended reach compared with direct-attach copper at equivalent form factor and speed. Its 30 m length allows flexible placement of equipment across racks and rows while keeping low electrical power draw and consistent 25GbE performance.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch interconnects in data centre racks
• Switch-to-switch connections within the same room or nearby rooms
• High-density top-of-rack and end-of-row deployments
• Environments requiring low-power, fixed-length 25GbE links

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 active optical cable
• Nominal data rate: 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) compatible
• Length: 30 metres
• Connector type: SFP28 module ends (hot-pluggable)
• Transmission medium: optical fiber with active transceivers integrated in the cable assembly
• Power: low-power AOC design suitable for dense installations
• Use case: short- to medium-reach data centre interconnects

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding 25GbE-compatible SFP28 port on the network devices until the latch engages. No separate transceivers or patch cords are required; the cable is factory-terminated and hot-pluggable. Verify link status and speed on device management interfaces after insertion. For removal, press the connector latch and gently pull the cable from the port, supporting the connector to avoid stress on the cable assembly.

Recommendations

Use this 30 m AOC in rack and data centre layouts where a fixed-length optical connection is preferred over discrete transceivers and patch cords. Ensure SFP28 port compatibility with 25GbE or multi-rate SFP28-capable devices and follow vendor guidance for supported modules. Avoid sharp bends, excessive pulling force, and exposure to liquids or extreme temperatures to maintain optical performance and cable longevity.
