AOC CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M aktívny optický kábel, 5 m

The AOC CBO SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M active optical cable, 5 m, is a factory-terminated duplex optical link designed for short-range 25GbE connections between SFP28 ports. This 5-metre BlueOptics active optical cable provides a fibre-based alternative to copper direct attach cables (DACs), offering reduced weight and power consumption while preserving low latency and stable link performance for switches, servers and other network appliances that support SFP28 modules.

Advantages

This active optical cable delivers predictable 25 Gigabit Ethernet throughput with plug-and-play operation, eliminating the need for separate transceivers and fibre patching. The optical medium reduces electromagnetic interference and heat generation compared with copper equivalents, and the fixed 5 m length simplifies cable management in racks and telecom rooms. The factory-terminated duplex design ensures consistent optical alignment and lowers the risk of connection errors during installation.

Suitable for

• Short-range 25GbE connections between network switches
• Direct links between servers and top-of-rack or leaf switches
• High-density rack environments requiring low-power interconnects
• Data centre aggregation and spine-leaf interconnects over short distances

Key specifications

• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC) with duplex fibre
• Interface: SFP28 to SFP28 compatible
• Nominal data rate: 25 Gbit/s per link
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector: factory-terminated SFP28 optical plugs
• Latency: low, suitable for latency-sensitive applications
• EMI immunity: optical medium reduces electromagnetic interference
• Power consumption: lower than equivalent copper direct attach solutions

How to use

Install the BlueOptics AOC by inserting each SFP28 plug into the corresponding SFP28 port on your network devices until the latch engages. Ensure both ends are fully seated and that devices are powered according to their manufacturer instructions. The cable is recognized as a direct link and typically requires no additional configuration; verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces. For best results, route the cable through rack openings or cable guides to avoid tight bends and maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short interconnects within racks or between adjacent racks, avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress, and confirm device compatibility with SFP28 active optical modules. For long-term reliability, keep connectors clean and protected when not in use and document cable runs within your rack layout.
