BlueOptics SFPP-AOC-5M-BO InfiniBand optický kábel 5 m SFP+ konektor samec/konektor samec

The BlueOptics SFPP-AOC-5M-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable is a 5-metre active optical cable with SFP+ male connectors on both ends. Designed for high-speed optical links, this AOC supports 10Gb/s class applications over multimode optical transmission and follows MSA-compatible SFP+ form-factor requirements. The pre-assembled cable integrates transmitters and receivers in the SFP+ housings to provide a direct plug-and-play optical connection between compatible switches, routers, storage systems and host interfaces without separate transceivers.

Advantages

This 5 m SFP+ to SFP+ active optical cable offers immunity to electromagnetic interference and eliminates the need for separate patch cords or external transceivers. The integrated design reduces insertion loss‑related issues and simplifies installation. BlueOptics AOCs are produced to follow established MSA standards and are validated for interoperability with major hardware platforms that support the corresponding SFP+ AOC type. Built-in digital diagnostics (DDM/DOM) provide real-time monitoring of parameters such as supply voltage, laser bias current, optical transmit and receive power, and operating temperature when supported by the host device.

How to use

Verify that both endpoints have SFP+ ports that support active optical cables and that the host devices accept MSA-compliant SFP+ modules. Insert each SFP+ connector into the respective port until the latch engages. After insertion, check link status on the host devices and, if available, read DDM/DOM parameters via the management interface to confirm operational values. If necessary, power-cycle the connected equipment to ensure link negotiation completes.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius specified for multimode fibre assemblies. Use strain relief where cables enter racks or panels, and keep connectors free from dust or contamination before insertion. Confirm host compatibility with AOC modules and enable DDM/DOM in device software if diagnostics are required for monitoring link performance.
